The 21st Memorial Cup in underwater fishing, titled 'Four Bells', will be held on the island of Rab on Saturday, 17 October. The competition is organised by the Sporting-Fishing Club Dolin from Barbat and brings together underwater anglers from Rab and the wider region.
The cup is held in memory of the late club members Mihael Bakota, Tomislav Tonc, Sanjin Staničić and Marjan Perčinić. The event has been taking place for 21 years.
The programme begins a day early, on Friday, 16 October. Verification of the competition will take place at 19:00 at Leut restaurant, and all competitors are required to attend. The opening of the competition is scheduled for 20:00, also at Leut restaurant.
The Saturday programme starts with a gathering at Caffe bar Old Town at 08:00. Departure for the wreath-laying and towards the hunting zone is scheduled for 08:30, and the wreath will be laid in the sea at 08:55. The competition begins at 09:00 from the wreath-laying site.
Catch submission is scheduled between 14:45 and 15:00 on the promenade by St Christopher's Square, also known as Varoš. At St Christopher's Square at 17:00, the catch will be weighed, followed by a gastronomic gathering and the award ceremony. A lottery for competitors with an entertainment programme is announced for 20:00.
