A traditional chess memorial was held in Krapina, gathering a total of 80 competitors. The event organiser, Krapina Chess Club (Šahovska klub Krapina), provided conditions for competition in two separate groups, A and B, enabling participation from a wider range of competitors with varying skill levels.
The competition was conducted according to the Swiss system, with a time control of five minutes plus three seconds per move. In the main A tournament, 58 chess players competed. Due to high competition, five competitors finished with the same number of points, and their final ranking among them was decided by head-to-head matches. The winning position was taken by Ozren Bitin, a member of Tomislav Chess Club (Šahovska klub Tomislav), who scored a total of eight points. The Slovenian competitor Marjan Črepan placed second, while Leon Đurić from Orlovi Chess Club (ŠK Orlovi) took third place.
In the B tournament, which gathered 22 competitors, the winning position was taken by Gabriel Auguštin with nine points. In this category, competitor Liana Dovečar, a member of Gornji Mihaljevac Chess Club (ŠK Gornji Mihaljevac), participated and secured eighth place. Competitor Sofija Kuč, a member of Križevac Chess Club (ŠK Križevac), stood out particularly, taking fourth place and being simultaneously named the best junior female competitor of the event.
The event was held in the premises of the KTC restaurant, where the competition proceeded under expert supervision. The chief arbiter of the competition was Radmila Švaljek. The tournament was officially opened in the presence of the Mayor of Krapina, Zoran Gregurović, who toured the competition venue. As part of the event, competitors from the local club achieved notable results, with two competitors, Josip Krklec and Zoran Zelenko, securing twelfth place in their respective categories.
