Hajduk suffered their first European defeat of the season on Thursday. In the third round of the Conference League, the Split side lost 1-0 away to Gibraltar champions Lincoln. It was their first loss in Europe after three matches played.

A day after the match, the club issued its first message to fans. Hajduk spoke out for the first time following the defeat by Lincoln, doing so on its social media channels, where it posted: "Just believe". This was a message from the club's management directed at the supporters.

Despite the defeat, Hajduk holds the top position in the Croatian league ahead of the 13th round. The Split side face Osijek on Sunday, with kick-off at 15:00.

According to current projections, Hajduk has more than 90 per cent chance of qualifying for the knockout phase of the Conference League. One more win should be sufficient to secure a place in the play-offs.

There is also a possibility that Hajduk will finish among the eight best teams, which would mean direct qualification for the round of 16. The Split side are therefore still in contention for the top eight positions and direct progression, with more than 90 per cent chance of reaching the European spring.
