Dominik Livaković will start on the evening of his debut for Barcelona in an away match against Seville at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium. The match begins at 21:00, and the Croatian goalkeeper will make his first official appearance in the club's shirt and his first in the Spanish league.

Catalan media had indicated that Wojciech Szczęsny would stand in goal, but Livaković was given the nod over the experienced Polish goalkeeper. Joan García was ruled out due to a right knee injury, and it was assumed that the first-choice goalkeeper would be replaced by Szczęsny.

Hansi Flick had highlighted the experience of the Polish goalkeeper and the fact that he knows the team's system, while stating that Livaković needs more time to adapt. Mundo Deportivo published on Saturday morning a possible Barcelona starting lineup in which Szczęsny was in goal, alongside Eric García, Pau Cubas, Gerard Martín, Xavi, Rodri, Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Fermín López, Anthony Gordon, and Raphinha.

However, Livaković saved well in the last training sessions, and video recordings of his interventions attracted the attention of social media users. Barcelona travel to Seville as league leaders, and Flick had previously confirmed that Cubas would start. Rotations are expected, so João Cancelo, Dani Olmo, and Karim Adeyemi are expected to remain on the bench.

Barcelona are expected to line up against Seville with: Livaković – Eric García, Cubas, Gerard Martín, Espart – Rodri, Pedri – Lamine Yamal, Fermín López, Gordon – Raphinha.
