KK Mladost Ivanovec is marking 25 years of work with a series of five tournaments. The second tournament in the series was held on Saturday, 26 September, in the hall of the primary school in Ivanovec.
Girls from KK Mladost Ivanace, KK Zupanja, ZKK Falkon Zagreb and ZKK Studio Zagreb took part in the tournament. The opening was attended by the Međimurje County Prefect Matija Posavec, who congratulated the club president, Zoran Džikić, and the members of KK Mladost Ivanac on their 25 years of work.
Posavec highlighted that such tournaments show how important it is to have clubs that gather children and young people and provide them with the opportunity to compete. According to the club president, Zoran Džikić, the aim is to mark the quarter of a century of the club's work through five tournaments, as well as to further popularise women's basketball among girls and young people.
This year's programme is also aimed at bringing together young players and connecting them through competitions and meetings with teams from other places. KK Mladost Ivanac brings together children and young people through training and competitions, and an important part of the club's work is creating conditions for the development of younger categories.
Tournaments such as this provide an opportunity for young players to gain new experience, measure themselves against peers from other clubs and spend a day in a sporting environment. The first tournament in the series was held in June, also for girls, and three more tournaments will be held by the end of the year.
