Slatina handballers face a new away fixture following a short break for the EHF international week. In the eighth round of the First Croatian Handball League North, Dalibor Sokač’s team travel to Đakovo, where the match will be played this Saturday, 7 November, with a 19:00 start.
Slatina’s last match was played on 25 October against Metalec. In a dramatic finish, they won 33:32, with Karlo Kligl’s goal securing two new points. Slatina currently have eight points, which is enough for sixth place in the league table. Moslavina lead with 12 points, while second-placed Ivanić-Grad also have 12 points.
During the short competitive break, the Slatina players trained diligently, with a particular focus on the defensive side of the game. Ante Kaleb proved to be an excellent link in attack, scoring eight goals against Metalec in the previous round.
A new player at the Marulić Hall is Marko Ćurčić, an experienced right wing with extensive experience playing abroad. During his career, he has played in Croatia, Germany, France, Israel and the Czech Republic, and arrives in Slatina from Italian club Junior Fasano.
With the postponement of matches in Vidovec and Stari Mikanovci, six matches will be played in the eighth round. On Saturday, Moslavina play Maksimir Pastela, Đakovo play Slatina and Požega play Zaprešić, while Dubrava play Dugave Odema and NEXE 2 play Varaždin 1930 on Wednesday.
