Company Abysalto gathered representatives of Croatian companies to discuss trends in human resource management. Among the participants were representatives from Algebra Bernays University, consultancy firm LQ, Frey Services, Bwise, Deceuninck and other companies.

Participants agreed that the role of HR has changed in recent years. In the past, a large part of the time was spent on administration, forms, spreadsheets and records, whereas today human resources specialists are expected to act as partners to management, understand employee needs, build organisational culture and assist in talent development.

Several trends in human resource management were highlighted during the discussion. The first trend is the application of artificial intelligence in HR processes. Instead of manual data entry, document searching or answering employee queries, these tasks are taken over by digital tools.

The second trend is the use of data and analytics for decision-making. Companies are attempting to predict upcoming processes, recognise the risk of employee turnover, training needs or opportunities for career development within the organisation. The third trend relates to the employee experience, with recruitment, onboarding, annual leave requests and access to information being streamlined to require only a few clicks.

Based on these premises, Abysalto People was developed, a Croatian platform that unifies human resource management processes. The system covers personnel records, organisational management, working time management, payroll processing, performance appraisal, education, employee development, recruitment and selection, with artificial intelligence-based functionalities.

An AI chatbot provides answers to frequently asked questions, an AI agent processes requests such as annual leave or travel authorisations, and a data extraction system speeds up the entry of documentation when hiring new employees. Željko Tandarić, a member of the Board of Directors of Abysalto, participated in the discussion. Company representatives concluded that technology allows for more time to be spent on creativity, collaboration, development and decision-making in human resource management.
