The Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds is continuing the measure of allocating support to island business entities to preserve jobs. The call for applications is open until 20 October 2026.

The aim of the measure is to promote the competitiveness and growth of business on the islands and the Pelješac peninsula. The support is therefore directed at strengthening economic activity in island areas, where employers often operate in difficult conditions.

Beneficiaries of the support can be island employers who carry out business on the island. The workers for whom the support is claimed must have their residence on the island and at least six months of continuous work in the period for which the support is granted.

Conditions have also been stipulated for the structure of ownership. The share of state ownership and local and regional (regional) self-government units in the structure of ownership of the beneficiary must not exceed 30 per cent. In addition, the beneficiary cannot be a financial institution.

The total amount of support allocated to a single entrepreneur must not exceed 300,000 euros over a three-year period. This sets a limit on the cumulative amount of support that a particular entrepreneur can receive in that period.
