Međimurska County has secured €200,000 in grants for entrepreneurs through the small-value support programme for the development of entrepreneurship. The call is open to micro and small enterprises within the county that meet the prescribed conditions, with applications open from 1 to 29 October 2026.
Applications will be assessed in the order of receipt, until the allocated funds are exhausted. The programme aims to encourage investment in business development, including investment in new products, services, and products with added value.
Two types of investment are foreseen. The first relates to the co-financing of investment in fixed assets necessary for the conduct of business, which includes the purchase of new and used machinery, equipment, and tools, as well as new computer equipment, computer software, and system licenses. The support for this type of investment is 50 per cent of eligible costs, with a maximum amount of €2,000.
The second type of investment relates to research, development, and innovation. The support covers the costs of prototype development and the verification and protection of intellectual property, including patent database searches, engagement of patent attorneys, and costs for industrial design, trademarks, and patents. For this type of investment, the support is also 50 per cent of eligible costs, with a maximum amount of €2,000.
Enterprises may apply to the call if they are micro or small enterprises located in Međimurska County that have registered primary or main activities included in the programme. This refers to specific activities in the fields of manufacturing, construction, software programming, consulting, and related IT services, as well as scientific research and development. The programme specifies certain exceptions.
Support is granted to cover part of the investment costs already incurred by the entrepreneur. Eligible costs are those incurred and paid from 1 January 2026, and costs incurred during the duration of the call, with support granted only on the basis of a submitted invoice and proof of payment. Each beneficiary may receive a maximum of €2,000 in grants, subject to the limits on small-value support set by the Commission’s de minimis regulation.
Entrepreneurs who have received payment of support based on the 2025 call for the development of entrepreneurship are not eligible for a grant under this call. Applications are to be submitted to the Department for Economy, Agriculture, and Tourism of Međimurska County on the prescribed form, along with the required documentation.
