The town of Lepoglava has awarded just over 33,000 euros in grants to local entrepreneurs. The agreements were signed in the town hall, with the funds designated for small businesses to support local economic development.
The 20 recipients are small businesses, primarily using the funds to purchase new machinery, tools, and equipment. Most beneficiaries received the maximum individual grant of 2,000 euros.
"This is a grant for entrepreneurs investing in the development and strengthening of their business operations," said the mayor, Željko Šoštarić, who handed out the agreements. He also announced a meeting with local business owners to hear directly about the challenges they face and how the town can further assist. "We want to help those who contribute significantly to the town's budget and are one of the key drivers of our town's development," he added.
The town allocated a total of 40,000 euros for the scheme, leaving a portion of the funds unused. The town is therefore planning to launch another tender to distribute the remaining balance to entrepreneurs.
