Zagreb County is inviting all interested parties to apply for the AgriFood Startup competition, with applications open until 8 November 2026. The competition is aimed at startups, small family farms (OPGs), entrepreneurs, students, innovators and individuals with an idea from the Zagreb County area.

10 ideas or teams will be selected to participate, and participants will receive two days of education and mentorship support. The selected teams will take part in a bootcamp on 20 and 24 November, while the final event of the AgriFood Startup competition will be held on 24 November 2026 in Velika Gorica.

The prize is €5,000, provided by Zagreb County. In addition to the cash prize, the top three most promising innovations will have the opportunity to continue their development through the two-month Forward to AgriFood Innovation programme.

The competition is being run under the European EIT Food initiative, with Smion and the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology at the University of Zagreb acting as EIT Food representatives in Croatia. The entire project is carried out with the support of Zagreb County.

The call is open to anyone with an innovative idea in the food and agriculture sector, and the competition offers them the opportunity for further education, mentorship and potential further development. Interested parties can apply until the beginning of November 2026.
