The fire in the dense pine forest in the Zadar urban area of Novy Bokanac reignited at 14:00. Firefighters are facing a challenge as the fire reactivated, despite being brought under control on Monday afternoon. The county fire chief, Matej Rudić, confirmed to Hina that the reactivation occurred due to unfavourable weather conditions.
Firefighters from the Zadar public fire department are involved in fighting the fire in Novy Bokanac. Due to the intensity of the fire and the spread of the flames, four aircraft have been called in to assist. The situation is further complicated by strong western winds, which are driving the spread of the fire and making it difficult for fire units to operate on the ground.
Meanwhile, at 14:00, a fire broke out in the open area in Privlaca. Firefighters are using two air tankers to effectively combat the fire. These two aircraft are crucial for suppressing the fire in open terrain, where access by land vehicles may be difficult or less effective.
In addition to the air force, local volunteers from the volunteer fire departments of Vir, Nina, Vrsi, Razance, and Posedarje are also on the ground. Working together, the aerial and ground units are attempting to prevent the further spread of the fire and protect the surrounding community and property.
