The leader of Most, Nikola Grmoja, firmly rejected on Wednesday the criticisms directed at the Operacija Oluja (Operation Storm) by the Serbian president. Stating that he is not concerned with messages from Serbia, Grmoja emphasised that the key is the memory of the contributions made by Croatian veterans, which have enabled the liberation of occupied areas.
Grmoja expressed deep pride and happiness at being able to attend the celebration of the greatest victory in recent Croatian history. In his address, he highlighted that this victory resulted in the liberation of territory, and stressed that gratitude must be shown to all veterans who, through their actions, secured the freedom, independence, and territorial integrity of the state.
He paid particular attention to the remembrance of victims, stating that we must never forget the sacrifices made by Croatian veterans. He believes that it is up to the new generation to achieve all that their predecessors fought for, and for which they were willing to give their lives. This includes building a society worthy of their sacrifice.
The primary goal for which the veterans fought, according to Grmoja, is a just Croatia. Such a state, in his view, must be a country where every Croatian has equal opportunities for life and progress. He noted that this ideal state must still be fought for.
In conclusion, he expressed hope that, through joint effort, they would succeed in securing such a Croatia. The message is clear: until complete justice and equality of opportunity are achieved, the struggle for these ideals continues, even though the key military objectives have already been met.
