Križevci Mayor Tomislav Katanović appeared on local radio, where he announced changes to the prices for renting space during the Križevci Great Spravišče. He stated that the aim is to achieve a fairer distribution of costs between the City and those who derive business benefit from the event.
"We will make a fairer distribution," Katanović stated. He explained the logic behind the announced changes: "If the city invests more in the event, it makes sense that those who see a business benefit from it must also participate more."
In addition to rental prices, Katanović revealed that the City Administration is also considering a new look for the terraces in the city centre. "There are situations where the current terraces are slightly moved or expanded, and our municipal inspectors carry out checks," the mayor said.
As a possible solution for arranging the city centre, he mentioned fixed glass structures like those found in other cities. "Other cities have installed fixed glass structures," Katanović said, adding: "That is not a bad solution either, and we will discuss it in the City."
He cited Koprivnica and Bjelovar as examples of cities that have already introduced this on their squares. "Koprivnica and Bjelovar are our examples, as they have them on their squares," Katanović said. He sees the advantage of fixed objects in that they prevent expansion: "A fixed object has the advantage that there is no possibility of expansion."
