On the night from Saturday to Sunday, a massive brawl broke out outside the Music cafe in Postojna, Slovenia, involving more than 20 young men and women. The Kopje police received a report of the clash at 1:20, and upon arrival, the participants scattered.
A 22-year-old was found with minor injuries at the scene. The investigation into the incident and the hunt for those involved in the clash are ongoing, said the spokesperson for the Kopje police, Anita Leskovac.
The clash prompted the local authority to announce a curfew for the music venue. The standard operating hours for the venue are until 10:00, with the local authority granting permission for the venue to operate until 2:00 in the morning once a month.
The mayor of Postojna, Igor Marentič, stated after reviewing the footage of the clash that he did not recall ever having witnessed anything similar. He stated that the local authority would consider issuing permits for operations in the late-night hours, until 11:00, or possibly 12:00, but no later than that in the future.
The management of the venue rejected direct blame for the clash. The manager of the venue stated that the incidents on the street were not linked to the operations of the venue, while the owner stated that they were taking measures to prevent disorder, without specifying concrete steps.
