The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia officially launched public calls for admission to the cadet service on Wednesday. The aim of the calls is to secure future officers for the Armed Forces, with the academic year for admission set as 2026/2027.
A total of 116 cadets are planned to be admitted to the University of Defence and Security “Dr Franjo Tuđman”, and five candidates to the Faculty of Transport Studies in Zagreb. Up to 70 candidates will be admitted to the undergraduate university course in Military Engineering at the University of Defence and Security, while up to 40 new cadets are expected to enrol in the Military Leadership and Management course.
A smaller number of places are provided for specialised courses. Up to six candidates will be admitted to the integrated undergraduate and postgraduate university course in Naval Science at the University of Defence and Security. On the other hand, at the Faculty of Transport Studies in Zagreb, specifically for the undergraduate university course in Aeronautics – military air traffic control, five places have been announced for the first year of the integrated undergraduate and postgraduate course.
The deadline for submitting applications is 14 August. Candidates can apply exclusively electronically via the Central Admissions Office on the Postani-student portal. Alternatively, applications can be submitted in writing to the address of the Ministry of Defence, Personnel Management Centre, in Zagreb, at Ilica 256b.
Along with the formal application, candidates are required to submit a request containing a curriculum vitae, residential address, and telephone or mobile number. A copy of the personal identity card and a copy of the birth certificate must also be provided. Additionally, it is mandatory to attach a certificate confirming that no criminal proceedings have been initiated against the candidate, with the certificate not being older than six months.
Candidates who pass the selection process and meet all requirements will be invited to the Preparatory Camp. The camp is scheduled for September and will be held at the Croatian Military Academy “Dr Franjo Tuđman”. During their studies, cadets will enjoy all rights stipulated by the Rules on the manner and conditions for concluding a cadet service contract and a scholarship agreement.
