A humanitarian campaign titled 'Kilometers for a Smile' was launched, with its organisers being members of the Goran Bense association. The initiative began in February, and during its duration, hundreds of motorcyclists joined in. Participants came from all corners of the country, further stimulating solidarity within the community of motorcycle enthusiasts.
A total of more than €3,100 was raised through the campaign. The funds raised are intended for the purchase of a resuscitation trolley, which will be allocated to the Paediatrics Department of the General County Hospital and the Croatian Veterans' Hospital in Pakrac. This donation represents a significant contribution to the improvement of medical equipment at the facility, which will contribute to better healthcare for patients.
All remaining funds, i.e. the surplus of the funds raised, will be directed to additional equipment and the improvement of conditions at the Pakrac paediatric ward. This donation will enable the upgrade of equipment and create better conditions for the treatment and stay of young patients, thereby further improving the quality of healthcare at the facility.
This humanitarian campaign demonstrated how collective effort can bring concrete results in the improvement of healthcare services. The participants, including motorcyclists, showed a high level of solidarity and willingness to help, which contributed to the success of the campaign. Such events promote social responsibility and encourage citizens to participate in humanitarian campaigns, creating a positive change in the community.
