In Slatina, on 6 September, the traditional competition in cooking beef goulash, known as the Open Championship, was held. This year's edition was marked by a special emphasis on the quality of preparation, and the organiser of the event was the HVIDR- Slatina, which has for years been preserving this cultural heritage.

The event attracted the attention of the wider public, and in terms of changes to the programme, a significant change occurred this year compared to previous years. Namely, the competition in cooking slavonski čobanac, which had been an integral part of the programme, was not held this year. The reason for this was African swine fever, which affected the organisational structure of the entire event.

Despite the changes, the event retained its identity, with the main focus placed on traditional beef goulash. The organisers made sure that a pleasant atmosphere was created, and participants had the opportunity to show their skills in preparing traditional dishes. Such events contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage and the promotion of local specialties, while simultaneously encouraging tourism and strengthening the local community.

In addition to being a gastronomic competition, these meetings have a social dimension, bringing together lovers of good food and those who wish to preserve tradition. Events of this kind help to preserve local customs and promote local specialties, while simultaneously encouraging tourism and strengthening the local community.
