A "Concert of Patriotic and Folk Songs" under the motto "I carry you in my heart…" was held at the Stjepan Radić People's House in Hrastovica. The event was organised by members of the Cultural and Artistic Society "Hrastovička gora", who launched the initiative five years ago.
Eight performers took part in the concert. The audience was entertained by the Police Klapa Sveti Mihovil, the Police Directorate of the Brod-Posavina County Tamburaš Ensemble, the Petrusice Vocal Ensemble, the Repušnica Cultural and Artistic Society (KUD), the Radost KUD from Selo, the Čuntićanka KUD, the Hrastovička gora KUD, and Ante Radošević.
Each performer chose three to four songs, and they agreed among themselves not to repeat any tracks. The audience thanked all the performers with a long, vigorous round of applause, and the hosts from the "Hrastovička gora" KUD presented them with commemorative certificates at the end of the concert.
Ljiljana Sigur, president of the "Hrastovička gora" Cultural and Artistic Society in Hrastovica, highlighted that when they first organised such a concert five years ago, they did not expect it to take off and become a new tradition in their village. Positive reactions from the audience and the performers themselves encouraged them to continue organising it in the coming years.
On behalf of the Sisak-Moslavina County, Ivanka Roksandić, president of the Association of Cultural and Artistic Societies of the Sisak-Moslavina County, greeted the attendees. On behalf of the City of Petrinja and Mayor Magdalena Komes, city councillor Adrijana Nenadić welcomed the guests.
The hosts also announced further activities. They will organise their first Christmas concert before the end of the year, and are preparing a New Year's Eve celebration. They are also in full preparation for marking the 100th anniversary of the society.
