Lika in the Bad Blue Boys' end on Saturday night was not just a passing detail. Amidst a sea of lit flares and thick smoke, the names of Gospić, Otočac, Lovinac, Široka Kula and Čak were raised high on the away stand in Velika Gorica, placing five well-known Lika names at the centre of the fan scene.

During the Rudeš and Dinamo match, the Bad Blue Boys displayed large yellow banners resembling road signs with the names of the settlements. Illuminated by the red light of flares, the inscriptions stood out clearly among the gathered fans, further reinforcing the impression that this was a message extending beyond the confines of the match itself.

However, the result on the pitch did not favour the Zagreb side. Dinamo suffered an uncomfortable defeat, with Rudeš winning 1:0 in the 12th round of the SuperSport HNL. The match was played on 31 October at the Gradski stadium in Velika Gorica.

The only goal was scored by former Dinamo player Junior Fernandes in the 30th minute, giving the hosts the lead which they held until the end. The Zagreb team finished the match with 10 men after Iker Almena was sent off in the 72nd minute, which further complicated their attempts to avoid defeat.

Thus, two scenes were found on the same stand — fan banners dedicated to Lika towns and a results shock on the field. As the flares burned and smoke rose, the names of Gospić, Otočac, Lovinac, Široka Kula and Čak remained held high, recorded in a night that will be remembered for the outcome of the match in Velika Gorica.
