The veterans' sports meeting was held at Brozov breg in Klanjec, with the gathering taking place at the Hunters' Lodge (Lovački dom) on Thursday, 24 September. The meeting was organised by the Klanjec Town Veterans' Association (Udruga umirovljenika Grada Klanjca), and sports teams from the veterans' associations of Klanjec, Kumrovec, Zagorska Sela, Tuhalj and Kraljevec na Sutli took part. A total of 105 members competed.
Women's and men's teams competed in pétanque, bowling and billiards. In pétanque, the best women's teams were Klanjec, Zagorska Sela and Kumrovec, while the individual top three places were taken by Tea Lovrić, Branka Kostanjšek and Mrs Lončarec. In men's pétanque, Klanjec, Zagorska Sela and Kraljevec na Sutli were victorious, with Josip Maček, Zdravko Jemeršić and Ivan Vidaković finishing individually first, second and third.
In the ten-pin bowling women's competition, the order was Klanjec, Kraljevec na Sutli and Zagorska Sela, while individually Ljubica Šešelj, Irena Borošak and Mira Vdović took the top three places. In men's bowling, the best teams were Kraljevec na Sutli, Zagorska Sela and Klanjec, with Zvonko Berić, Josip Ban and Milan Jurak taking the individual top three places.
In women's billiards, Tuhelj took first place ahead of Zagorska Sela and Klanjec, while the best women's pairs were Josipa Pavlinić and Snježana Huško, ahead of Mrs Lojen and Mrs Žučko, and Katića Ilić and Slavica Raumberger. In men's billiards, Kraljevec na Sutli finished first, Tuhelj second, and Kraljevec na Sutli third once again. In men's pairs, Stanko Strunjak and Zdravko Štefatić were victorious, followed by Marjan Tušak and Ivica Ratkajec in second, and Ruda Tomašinjak and Đuka Kralj in third.
The meeting was greeted by Klanjec Mayor Zlatko Brlek and Vladimir Crnec, president of the Matica of Retirees of Krapina-Zagorje County (Matica umirovljenika Krapinsko-zagorske županije). Trophies and medals were presented to the most successful teams and individuals. The president of the Klanjec Town Veterans' Association is Irena Borošak, and her deputy is Zdravko Iveković.
After the competition, a communal lunch followed, and at the meeting people sang and danced.
