Craig Overton and Sophie Luff have taken the top honours at the Professional Cricketers' Association awards. Overton was named cricketer of the year in the men's division, while Luff became the first recipient of the women's award without a cap since 2021.
Luff, aged 32, was part of the Trent Rockets side that won The Hundred. She amassed more than 1,000 runs across all formats over the summer, including an average of over 40 in the One-Day Cup. She secured the award ahead of three England caps – Maie Bouchier, Sophia Dunkley, and Mady Villiers.
Overton, also 32, recorded three centuries in first-class cricket and maintained an average of less than 20 with the ball in the County Championship. He outperformed Joe Clarke, George Hill, and Dan Lawrence on the shortlist.
The Young Cricketer of the Year awards went to Sonny Baker and Tilly Corteen-Coleman. Baker, aged 23, is a fast bowler who made his debut in test cricket against New Zealand at The Oval in June. He was part of the Manchester Super Giants side that won The Hundred, as well as Hampshire's squad that reached the T20 Blast final.
Corteen-Coleman, aged 19, is a left-arm spinner. She was a surprise inclusion in the England squad for the T20 World Cup. Heather Knight received the award for outstanding contribution following her retirement from international cricket, while Tammi Beaumont was awarded a special citation.
