Rocky Flintoff, the 18-year-old son of the legendary former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, has scored his first professional century in a Lancashire shirt. The young cricketer impressed in the One-Day Cup match at Taunton, where Lancashire played against Somerset, achieving the highest total in the club's history in List A competition.
Flintoff spent 76 balls at the crease, scoring 123 runs with 10 fours and seven sixes. His performance in the first 65 balls was particularly impressive, during which he reached a century. He came in when Lancashire were 138-3, and then built a crucial partnership of 214 runs with Keaton Jennings, who scored 156 runs from 127 balls.
Their partnership was key to Lancashire's final score of 443-6 in 50 overs, which represents the best total in the club's history in the List A format. Although Somerset still had to bat, Lancashire clearly dominated the match, partly because Somerset's attack was weakened due to The Hundred competition.
This success further enriches the young Flintoff's rich career, having already become the youngest player to debut for Lancashire at the age of 16 years and 113 days. His One-Day Cup debut was in 2024, and before that he became the youngest century-maker for England U-19, including against Sri Lanka, and for England Lions.
Rocky Flintoff comes from a highly successful cricketing family. His father, Andrew Flintoff, is considered a legend of English cricket, while older brother Corey Flintoff also plays professionally for Kent. Rocky's performance in Taunton confirms he is following in the footsteps of his successful cricketing family.
