This match was a repeat of the 2026 World Championship final, in which Wu had previously claimed the title, becoming the second youngest world champion in the history of the sport.
The Chinese player took an early 3-0 lead, but Si Jiahui managed to level the score at 3-2. Wu then took control of the match, recording three breaks over 100 points, including impressive breaks of 108 and two breaks of 140 points. This secured three consecutive frames and secured his place in the quarter-finals.
