Amazon has officially unveiled a new line of devices called the Amazon Alexa Tablets. This comprises three models — the Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, Amazon Alexa Tablet 11, and Amazon Alexa Tablet 8 — built in an aluminium unibody chassis, running on Android, and offering full access to the Google Play store.

The most powerful model, the Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, is 6.5 millimetres thick and features a 12-inch display with a resolution of 280 dots per inch, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a 3:2 aspect ratio. It is available in a standard version and in a Nan matte finish. It is powered by an 8-core processor manufactured in a 4-nanometer technology with up to 16 GB of RAM, and is equipped with four speakers supporting Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6E, and a battery that allows for up to 16 hours of video playback. Accessories designed for it, purchased separately, include the Pro Pen with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity and wireless charging, as well as a Pro keyboard with an integrated touchpad.

The Kindle app on the new tablets offers a special reading mode, with muted notifications and blue light reduction. In this mode, battery life is extended to 20 hours, with the option to write directly on digital pages using the pen.

The Amazon Alexa 11 model is equipped with a 11-inch 2.5K display with a 90 Hz refresh rate. It features an 8-core processor, along with 8 GB of RAM and a battery for up to 15 hours of video playback. The smallest model, the Amazon Alexa 8, has an 8.7-inch diagonal screen, weighs 329 grams and is 7.95 millimetres thick, with a battery that lasts up to 14 hours. Children's editions, the Amazon Kids tablets, were also presented in 8.7 and 11-inch sizes, with protective cases and a one-year subscription to the Amazon Kids+ service.

All of the aforementioned devices feature integrated Alexa+ AI, which includes an on-screen intelligence feature for real-time screen content analysis and a live sessions feature for continuous conversation without repeating the activation word. Amazon states that all screen analysis functions are secure and disabled by default, requiring explicit user consent, with a visual indicator showing when the system is active.

The starting price for the Amazon Alexa 12 Pro is $499.99, or $549.99 for the Nan matte version, for the model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The 11 model is priced at $329.99, while the 8 model is priced at $229.99. The Pro keyboard costs $149.99, and the Pro pen costs $89.99.

The devices are available for sale in the US, Mexico, and Canada. Delivery in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain begins on 19 October.
