Students of the undergraduate course Information and Business Systems, at the Faculty of Organisation and Informatics, at the University of Zagreb, have developed a new educational application. This is a computer game titled 'FOI History Game', the primary purpose of which is to educate users through an interactive experience.
The key feature of the developed project is the visualisation of space. Within the game, a detailed virtual representation of the city of Varaždin has been created, which allows users to explore the historical context of the city in an interactive manner. This approach allows for a deeper understanding of historical facts related to this city.
The technological foundation of the game is based on Roblox technology, a platform that has become popular due to its accessibility and the ability to create diverse virtual environments. The use of this technology has allowed students to create a dynamic environment that is both informative and entertaining.
The goal of the developed project is clearly defined: the game serves as a tool for teaching history. Through interactive elements, users have the opportunity to engage with historical facts in a way that is more engaging than traditional learning methods. This approach to education opens up new possibilities for the popularisation of historical heritage among a wider audience, particularly among the younger generation accustomed to digital media.
The project represents an example of how technological solutions can contribute to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, while simultaneously providing educational value through modern digital tools.
