The Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service (DHMZ) has issued a yellow alert for wind via the Meteoalarm system. This alert applies exclusively to the geographical area of the Velebić Channel, where strong winds are expected, potentially causing some disruption.
The alert is in effect from 00:01 on 18 August and will remain in place until 09:00 on the same day. Residents and travellers in the area are advised to exercise caution due to the potential impact of strong winds during this period.
The yellow level in the Meteoalarm system indicates conditions that may be unpleasant and potentially hazardous, but typically do not result in widespread damage. Nevertheless, standard precautions are recommended during the specified period.
