The Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service (DHMZ) has issued a yellow alert for strong winds affecting the northern Dalmatian region. This measure is in place to warn the public in advance of potentially adverse weather conditions that could impact daily life and safety.

The alert came into effect at midnight, specifically at 00:01 on 13 August, and will remain in force until the end of the same day, at 23:59. During this 24-hour period, gusty winds are expected, which may reach storm strength along the specified coastal area.

The yellow alert in the Meteoalarm system indicates a situation where meteorological conditions are expected to be hazardous to health, property, or the environment, but do not necessarily carry a high risk of catastrophic consequences. Nevertheless, the DHMZ advises caution, particularly for those in open spaces or near trees and structures that may be unstable.
