The first day of November brings a sharp and noticeable change in weather across Dalmatia, marking the first serious breath of the approaching winter in southern Croatia. Variable cloud cover is expected, accompanied by a significant drop in air temperatures and a sudden intensification of the bura wind.

Variable cloud cover will prevail during the day, with rain expected in places, becoming more frequent and intense from midday onwards. Particular caution is advised for residents of the southern part of Dalmatia and the islands, where there is a local possibility of pronounced showers accompanied by thunder in the afternoon and evening hours.

The main feature of today's change will be moderate to strong, and locally storm-force bura. The Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service (DHMZ) has issued yellow and orange warnings for the entire coastal strip, forecasting strong wind gusts that could reach speeds between 70 and 95 kilometres per hour. Such strong winds could cause serious difficulties, as well as the introduction of restrictions in maritime and catamaran traffic.

Maximum daily air temperatures will generally range from 11 to 16 degrees Celsius. Under the influence of the cold bura, temperatures will be in constant and sharp decline during the afternoon and evening, making the coming evening significantly colder everywhere compared to the previous period.

With the rapid drop in air temperatures towards the end of the day, sleet and snow are expected in the evening and at night in the highest mountainous areas of the Dalmatian hinterland, particularly on the Dinaric Alps and Biokovo. Citizens are advised to wear warmer clothing when going outdoors.
