Hunting associations from the Novi Vinodolski area – Lovačko društvo Gradina (Gradina Hunting Association) and Lovačko društvo Košutnjak Novi (Košutnjak Novi Hunting Association) – marked the feast day of St Hubert, the patron saint of hunters and nature. The central part of the commemoration was a Mass at the BDM Carmelite parish church in Ledenice, led by Father Jakov Filipović.

The gathering of participants began at the House of Culture in Ledenice, from where they set off towards the church in a ceremonial procession. At the head of the procession were carried lanterns that illuminated the way, along with a stag's antlers with a cross between the horns, the central symbol of this feast day.

The stag's antlers with a cross refer to the legend in which, during a hunt on Good Friday, the nobleman Hubert saw a stag with a cross between its antlers and heard a call to conversion. Hubert subsequently became a priest, and later a bishop, and was canonised about a hundred years after his death. Since then, he has been celebrated as the patron saint of hunters and nature.

During the commemoration, Father Jakov Filipović, who is himself a hunter, was presented with an honorary membership award of the Association by Igor Uremović, president of LD Gradina. After the Mass, hunters from both associations continued their gathering at a special dinner at the Hunting House in Krmpote – Buffet Forestia.
