A lightning strike ignited a pine forest in the area of Osejna above Makarska on Tuesday evening. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, preventing it from spreading, and residential properties were not at risk, N1 reported.

"Lightning struck the pine forest, which caught fire. Firefighters responded quickly and extinguished the fire," said representatives of the local fire department to Hina, noting that the fire did not last long.

The storm also affected the Dalmatian hinterland and the central Dalmatian islands, where intermittent lightning, thunder, and rain were recorded. According to initial reports from firefighters, there were no consequences or damage in those areas.

In Staro Grad on Hvar, the sea briefly overflowed the promenade due to a meteorological tide. Local firefighters stated that intervention was not required, as such occurrences are a common phenomenon on the islands.
