Pazin has secured €7.2m in grant funding for the construction of a new school building and sports hall at the local primary school in Trviž. The agreement with the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth was signed on 3 July by the town’s mayor, Suzana Jašić.
The funding comes from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU instrument. The funds were allocated as part of a call for the construction, renovation and equipping of primary schools to enable single-shift operation.
“This is the result of the work of many people within and around the town, for which I am grateful. It is a significant developmental step for Trviž and the wider area,” the mayor said.
Construction will not begin immediately. The town must first complete preparatory activities and tender procedures to select contractors.
The new school building, which includes a sports hall, is expected to provide students with more modern teaching conditions, while the single-shift schedule is one of the objectives the state is promoting through this initiative.
