The Graduated Museum in Čazma is reopening its doors to visitors after several years of closure. On this occasion, Open Days are being held as part of the 2026 European Heritage Days event.
The Open Days will run from Thursday, 1 October, to Saturday, 3 October. The programme takes place each day from 17:00 to 20:00, with visitors able to tour the renovated building of the museum located at Trg Čazmanskog kaptola 10. The building had been closed to the public following the last exhibition held in 2018, with the renovation work commencing in 2022.
A total of 2,071,093.93 euros in grant funding was invested. The funds were provided by the EU Solidarity Fund, the Recovery and Resilience Facility (NextGenerationEU), and the State Budget via the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia. The museum building is located in a former military manor on the site of a medieval fortress.
During the Open Days, three thematic lectures will be held, starting at 18:00. On Thursday, 1 October, Dr. Maja Cepetić Rogić will deliver a lecture on 'The Museum Building in Čazma'. On Friday, 2 October, Vedran Koprivnjak and Jadranka Kruljac Sever will speak on the topic 'The Medieval Fortress in Čazma in the Light of New Findings'. On Saturday, 3 October, Krear Projects, specifically Natasa Bajs, will present the topic 'New Permanent Exhibition of the GM: Presentation of the Conceptual Project'.
Visitors will learn more about the history of the building, new archaeological findings, and plans for the future permanent exhibition. Entry to all events within the Open Days is free. The Graduated Museum is inviting citizens, media representatives, and the academic community to grace the occasion of the completion of the museum building works with their presence.
