The film club at Ivanovec Primary School is marking its 20th anniversary. At the start of the school year, the club was invited to three major film showcases: the Croatian School Film Showcase, the 64th Review of Croatian Children's Film and Video Art, and the Dubrovnik Film Festival.

Two films were screened at the showcase in Šibenik: the reportage “V3304” and the documentary “Dućan želja” (The Wish Shop). At the 64th Review in Đurđevac, the reportage “V3304” won third prize from the Children’s Jury. The documentary “The wish shop” qualified for the film showcase in Dubrovnik, which brings together the best filmmakers from Mediterranean countries. Teacher Ivana Gradečak translated the film into English, and it was presented in Dubrovnik by pupil Bono Smolkovič and mentors Nataša Kralj and Kristina Fegeš. The four unforgettable days in Dubrovnik served as motivation to continue making films.

It all began in 2006 with the shooting and editing of the first documentary. At the time of shooting the first film, digital cameras did not yet exist, and the first edited shots were connected in Windows Movie Maker. This was when the multi-award-winning film “Japičini zdiganci” (Japich’s Lifts) was shot, a successful debut about a man from our region. Following “Japičini zdiganci” came the films “Matija”, “Imel mlinar melina” (The Miller Had Flour), “Paunaš”, “Ivana O.”, “Moja baka Ana” (My Grandmother Ana), “Šljokice” (Sequins), “O njima sve najbolje” (All the Best About Them) and many others.

The film club brings together a large number of children from the first to the eighth grade. The children have learned how to make a film from idea to premiere. They were led by mentors Nataša Kralj and Radovan Petković. A Photo-Cinema Club was later established, which Radovan Petković successfully leads, while the Film Club is now led by Nataša Kralj and Kristina Fegeš.
