The island of Šipan was the host of the 23rd Summer Film School, which during August brought together a wide community of film lovers and creators. The programme, which ran from 4 to 14 August, focused on the merging of generations through shared creation, bringing together children, young people, as well as experienced professionals from the film industry and a wider public interested in artistic expression.
The core of the programme consists of four specific workshops, among which the workshops on animated and feature film stood out, as well as a special course titled 'Creativity without Borders'. Participants went through a complete process of creating a film. From the first ideas and writing the script, through shooting and acting, all the way to the final stage of editing, participants gained comprehensive experience in the creative process.
The culmination of this ten-day cycle was the premiere of films created by the young filmmakers of Šipan during the programme. This final point served as an enlightenment of their work and skills acquired during their stay on the island. The success of the programme is confirmed by its role in strengthening the connection of the community through shared artistic expression.
The entire programme, lasting ten days, focused on creating a space where film is not just content to be watched, but a medium for learning, socialising, and connecting. This approach allowed participants to not only acquire technical skills, but also to develop a deep understanding of film art through shared experience.
The conclusion of this ten-day cycle was marked by a large concert by the band Daleka oblace, which closed this year's event. This final act gave a special touch to the entire event, leaving a lasting impression on all participants and visitors to the cultural event on the island of Šipan.
