Teniska club Feniks Daruvar has distinguished itself in recent years with intensive work with the youngest generations, which its members confirmed in the past two weeks with a series of successful appearances at domestic and international tournaments. Competitors appeared in age categories from the youngest up to 14 years, with appearances covering the cities of Koprivnica, Virovitica, Zagreb, and Banja Luka.
At the OP Didon tournament, five members of Feniks participated in the under-8 category: Dorotea Šaravanja, Dora Halupa, Patrik Rihter, Rea Bosanac, and Kian Markakaus Drempetić. For Rea Bosanac and Kian Markakaus Drempetić, this was their first tournament appearance, while Patrik Rihter secured second place. Dora Halupa and Patrik Rihter also competed in the higher under-9 category, and Erik Sabo reached the final in the 10-year-old category, where he was defeated by El Mufleh from Čakovec.
At the Lino Cup, Jano Halupa competed in the under-14 category, advancing through the qualifying group but stopping in the main draw. Ivan Ratc had a very good performance at the same competition. Jano Halpa continued with good play at the OP of TK Hrvoje in Zagreb in the 14-year-old category, where she achieved two wins and advanced to the semi-finals of the bonus tournament.
At the Hartmann Cup for 12-year-olds in Koprivnica, Emma Kuhinck competed. She passed the qualifying group and reached the quarter-finals, where she lost to Eva Kolarić from Čakovec, who went on to win the entire tournament.
The greatest achievement in the recent period was achieved by Jakov Ogrizek, who competed in two consecutive Tennis Europe tournaments for 14-year-olds in Banja Luka. At the Elit Open, he won the championship without losing a set, defeating Jakov Kramaric in the final with a score of 7-5, 6-2. Ogrizek and Kramaric both reached the final in the doubles category.
The following week, Ogrizek competed in the Lanaco Open, where, despite losing two sets, he reached the final. In the final, he defeated Đura Kotura from Serbia with a score of 7-6, 6-1. Thus, Jakov Ogrizek, within two weeks, won two consecutive European tournaments, which brought him to the 149th position on the 14-year-old European ranking, advancing from the 286th position. With that position, he is 16th in his European generation.
