The auxiliary football pitch with an artificial surface was officially opened on Friday, 18 September 2026, within the Sports Centre in Lipik. The project, titled 'Construction of a football pitch with artificial grass in Lipik', has a total value of 706,000 euros including VAT.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sport supported the project with grants amounting to 300,000 euros, while the remaining funds were provided by the local authority of Lipik. The 100-metre pitch, equipped with the latest artificial grass, will allow the youth teams of NK Lipik 1925, as well as other athletes and recreational players, to train year-round, regardless of weather conditions.
The opening ceremony was attended by numerous representatives of local and regional authorities, as well as sports associations. The attendees were addressed by the Mayor of Lipik, Vinko Kasana, the Požega-Slavonia County Prefect, Antonia Jožić, and the president of NK Lip 1925, Dejan Iličić.
The Mayor highlighted the local authority's focus on the long-term development of recreational and competitive sport, noting that the pitch serves as a gift from the town to the club on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of football in Lipak.
The opening ceremony was marked by a symbolic entry onto the pitch, accompanied by young footballers, and the building was blessed by the local parish priest, Vlado Ivanović. The event concluded with a friendly match between the youth teams of NK Lip 1925 and NK Hajduk Pakrac on the new grass surface.
