Young footballer Roko Ciglar, originally from Podbrest in Međimurje County, has been given the opportunity to train with Bayern Munich's first team. According to Bild, the 16-year-old participated in the senior squad's training sessions on Monday and Tuesday as the team prepared for their third-round Champions League fixture against Arsenal.
Ciglar thus trained alongside stars such as Harry Kane and Luis Díaz. Bild dedicated an article to him under the headline 'Unknown big talent (16) at Bayern training before Arsenal spectacle'.
Roko Ciglar was born on 25 February 2010 and joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2025 from 1860 Munich. Although he is from Podbrest in Međimurje County, he has lived in Germany for several years. He plays as a midfielder, primarily a defensive midfielder, and has a contract with Bayern Munich until the summer of 2028.
This season, he is playing for Bayern Munich's U-17 team, for whom he has scored three goals in eight league matches. He stood out in a September defeat against Ulm (3:4), when he was a double scorer. His first goal came from a precise strike from approximately 16 metres, while for the second, he beat an opponent with a feint before finishing with a low shot. Bayern Munich specifically praised his performance in their official report.
Ciglar also plays for the Germany U-17 national team, but he is also eligible to represent Croatia. This opens up the possibility that he could choose the Croatian shirt in the future, given that he holds eligibility for both countries.
