Uber won a legal dispute in which claims by London black cabs worth £340 million were dismissed, according to the BBC. The ruling also rejected claims worth £200 million, which were also part of this proceeding.
In addition to the financial claims, the court dismissed allegations that Uber had misled London regulator Transport for London (TfL) regarding its licence. These claims, according to the court's decision, were rejected because they were filed too late.
The court determined that all claims were submitted outside the statutory time limit, including those relating to the alleged misleading of the regulator. Consequently, the black cabs' claims and the allegations regarding the licence were dismissed.
The decision represents a legal victory for Uber, which is thereby relieved of the obligation to pay compensation under those claims.
