Drivers could be met with new, higher fuel prices at petrol stations from Tuesday, 22 September. According to information published by RTL Danas, a litre of euro super is expected to cost €1.74, a litre of euro diesel €1.95, and a litre of blue diesel €1.51.
The calculation would apply if the government does not intervene in fuel prices on Monday. The current maximum price for basic petrol is €1.70 per litre, diesel €1.85 per litre, and blue diesel €1.40 per litre. This means that euro super would rise by one cent, euro diesel by 10 cents, and blue diesel by 11 cents.
The price increase would significantly affect drivers who fill up large quantities of fuel. A driver filling 50 litres of euro diesel would pay €5 more than at the current price.
The government set on 15 September that petrol should cost no more than €1.70 per litre, diesel no more than €1.85, and blue diesel no more than €1.40. Prices of oil derivatives are regulated by decrees, and on Monday the government can intervene in the elements affecting the final retail price.
According to information from RTL Danas, based on sources close to the government, prices for petrol and diesel are set to rise from Tuesday. The price of euro super is expected to rise by one cent, so the price of petrol will be €1.75. Although an initial increase of 10 cents per litre was mentioned, following government intervention, euro diesel is expected to rise by six cents, so the new price would be €1.91 per litre.
