The chief fire officer, Slavko Tucaković, stated that all fire sites were calm during the night and that no new outbreaks of fire were recorded. Firefighters were on duty at all locations, ensuring the stability of the situation. The situation at the Dinaric fire, which spread from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was assessed as stable, so there was no need to deploy air support this morning.
During the day, fire restoration work will continue, with particular attention paid to the area above Omiš. Thirty-seven firefighters and 19 vehicles are participating in the fight against the fire in the Dinaric region, which spread from the Bosnian side. Although there was open fire last night, it extinguished during the night, contributing to the calming of the situation in that area.
On the other hand, firefighters managed to bring the fires on the island of Dugi Otok and in the area of Galovac near Zadar under control. Both fires, which reactivated around midday yesterday, were brought under control in the afternoon. At Galovac and Prkos, where burning occurred, it is estimated that approximately 30 hectares of land were affected, primarily grass, abandoned orchards, and low vegetation.
Firefighters remain on duty at the fire site near Galovac and Prkos to prevent the fire from spreading again. Although conditions at most locations are stable, continuous monitoring remains essential to prevent new outbreaks, particularly in areas where vegetation is dry. Experts stress the importance of caution and the constant presence of fire services in these sensitive areas.
