The dog Lou, known as Lou the Dog, has once again been placed in a shelter in Rijeka. The Rijeka Society for the Protection of Animals has officially confirmed that the animal was returned to the shelter, bringing an end to a short stay in a new home.
The dog had previously been adopted by 19-year-old Lana Louisa Rupić. Rupić is the daughter of the well-known actor Goran Višnjić, which gave the case additional media attention. The adoption was carried out through a process organised by the aforementioned society.
Lou is one of the dogs rescued from the estate on Mount Učka. The rescue was the result of an intervention in the conditions in which the animals were kept at that location, after which they were taken over by the relevant authorities. The case attracted widespread public attention due to its connection with a well-known person.
The Society for the Protection of Animals continues to monitor the case and will keep the public informed of further developments. The return to the shelter marks the end of the adoption attempt, although details of the reasons for the return have not yet been made public.
