Officers from the Zadar Maritime and Airport Police Station carried out enhanced surveillance measures in the Zadar area during the past week. The operation covered the period from 1 to 7 August 2026, with a particular focus on controlling navigation at sea. The aim of the operation was to ensure the safety of maritime traffic and prevent offences related to the operation of vessels.
Successful controls resulted in the discovery of 27 offenders who were operating jet skis. Fines of 400 euros were issued against all those caught. This measure is part of a broader police strategy to combat illegal activities on the water, aiming to increase the level of safety for all sea users.
In addition to at sea, police forces have recorded a series of accidents and criminal offences on land. Over the past few days, a number of thefts and property damage incidents have been recorded in the Zadar area. Police are working intensively to clarify these cases in order to find those responsible for the damage caused.
Special attention is being paid to investigations into break-ins in which material damage worth several thousand euros was caused. Police are currently searching for unknown perpetrators who carried out these acts. As part of the investigative work, it was established that a car was also stolen in one of the cases, which further complicates the investigation.
Officers continue to collect evidence and speak with witnesses in order to identify and apprehend the perpetrators as soon as possible. Citizens are urged to be vigilant and cooperate with the police to prevent further criminal offences in the Zadar area.
