The Ministry of Culture and Media has allocated €25,000 to the town of Lepoglava for the organisation of the 30th International Lace Festival. The funds are intended for the anniversary edition of the event, which is marked by the 30th anniversary of its existence. The allocation follows an official request by the town of Lepoglava for state financial support.
The 30th edition of the festival will take place from 11 to 13 September. Over the course of three days, Lepoglava will become the hub of the lace-making scene. The festival is recognised as a significant cultural event not only for the local community but also for the wider Croatian cultural landscape.
Organisers have highlighted that this year’s edition will showcase the beauty and elegance of lace. Special emphasis is placed on the lace tradition of Lepoglava. The focus is on the lace makers who preserve this heritage, continuing the tradition through contemporary cultural events.
This allocation represents an increase in support compared to previous years. The town of Lepoglava, under the leadership of Mayor Željko Šoštarić, continues to invest in the promotion of local identity through this prestigious event. The Ministry of Culture and Media has thereby confirmed its support for the festival, which has been promoting Croatian lace traditions for decades.
