The opening of the exhibition Autistic Landscapes by artist Pauline Jazvić will take place at the Nova Gradiška City Museum on Thursday, 29 October, at 19:00. The cycle of paintings depicts the alienation of the individual, personal fears and hopes through surrealist, ironic and often absurd scenes.

The exhibition brings together works in which the artist critically reflects on contemporary society, interpersonal relationships, gender identity and the position of art. Her recognisable visual language, black humour and personal symbolism prompt viewers to interpret reality in various ways, the exhibition announcement states.

The opening is scheduled for 19:00, and organisers have stated that everyone is welcome. Visitors will thus have the opportunity to see first-hand a cycle that combines the surreal and the absurd while questioning the boundaries of the personal and the social.

Paulina Jazvić has been building a recognisable expression based on symbolism and black humour through her work for several years. It is noted that these elements precisely enable a multi-layered reading of her works and different interpretations among the public.

The exhibition Autistic Landscapes thus brings to Nova Gradiška a contemporary painting expression that combines personal introspection with criticism of social phenomena. The opening at the City Museum is an opportunity to meet the artist and her works, and entry is open to all interested parties.
