The first Croatian Citroën DS meeting was held at the Želavian airfield on 3 October, an event that brought together owners and enthusiasts of this legendary car. The meeting was organised by the Auto Club Oldtimer Driver, and the first edition attracted participants from Hungary, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as from various parts of Croatia.
The idea for the meeting was sparked by several Citroën DS owners. They decided to set out in search of other owners of this model and to organise a joint gathering. The response to the first meeting was excellent, confirming the interest in this car among both domestic and foreign enthusiasts.
The Citroën DS, known by the nicknames 'The Frog' and 'The Shark', is a model that, decades after production ceased, continues to enjoy a cult status among enthusiasts. The attractive location of the Želavian airfield further enhanced the meeting, providing participants with an unusual setting for socialising and showcasing vehicles.
Organisers are already looking ahead to next year. They are planning a larger international meeting, with even more participants and enthusiasts of this unique car. In this way, they wish to continue the tradition of gathering Citroën DS owners from the region and further afield.
