YouTube star Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, organised a major charity event in which numerous figures from the worlds of sport, music, and film took part. The project’s main aim was to grant the wishes of hundreds of children battling cancer, offering them moments of joy and support during a difficult time.
Through collaboration with several partners, including the charity Beast Philanthropy, the not-for-profit Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), the biopharmaceutical company Amgen, and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the project was able to raise significant funds. These funds are designated for the development of new therapies, aiming to improve treatment and increase the chances of recovery for young patients.
As a result of the initiative, a video titled “We helped 100 children fight cancer” was published on YouTube. The clip, published on 25 July, immediately attracted the public’s attention. Within just a few days of its release, the video had recorded millions of views, demonstrating the large audience following such charitable efforts.
This approach combines the reach of digital influencers with serious charitable aims, enabling the rapid mobilisation of resources and attention. Collaboration with established organisations such as SU2C and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation ensured that the funds raised were effectively directed towards research and treatment, while the involvement of stars from various industries helped spread the message globally.
