Eighteen project holders from the Sisak-Moslavina County have signed agreements for grants totalling €109,500, aimed at improving the quality of accommodation. The contracts were handed out at the Panorama holiday house in Kutina.
The grants are awarded following a public call for the improvement of accommodation quality in 2026, with the recipients receiving the funds from the deputy county administrator, Mihael Jurić, and the director of the Sisak-Moslavina County Tourist Board, Ivana Plavec. The money is designated for investments in additional guest amenities, renewable energy sources, and the circular economy, with the aim of strengthening the county’s recognition as a green and sustainable destination.
Plavec highlighted that the programme is not merely financial support but a recognition of the work done by tourism operators. She added that it is linked to the ‘Local Host’ label, which highlights hosts who, through their expertise and care for guests, represent the best face of the county.
Jurić reminded that the county has been running such programmes for the third consecutive year, with the number of registered hosts increasing year on year. The grants, he said, are most significant for users in expanding their offerings with additional amenities such as swimming pools, saunas, and wellness facilities.
Among the recipients is Vedran Desić, owner of the Panorama holiday house, who has restored a historic cellar inherited from his family and turned it into a holiday home. With this year’s grant, he plans to expand the terrace, install a glass pergola, and set up a wellness zone with a sauna and jacuzzi.
The award marks the continuation of the ‘Tourism Plus’ programme: in 2024 and 2025, 38 tourism entities have been co-financed with a total of €360,000.
