The legal basis for this action stems from the Defence Act. The act stipulates that the armed forces may cross the state border to provide humanitarian aid to another country. A Canadair CL-415 aircraft from the Croatian Air Force will be used to carry out the task. This specialized aircraft is known for its efficiency in fighting fires. It is particularly suitable for operations covering large areas of forest land.
