Electric minibuses have arrived in Jastrebov and, according to plan, should be available to the public by the end of the year. Transport in the first phase will be free.
The vehicles were taken over by the mayor, Zvonimir Novosel, together with his associates and the director of Ceste Jastrebo, Nen Striz, who presented the further course of the project.
In the first phase, three bus lines will be established. One will circulate through the town, with alternating transport to the Economic Zone, while the other two will connect lowland villages with the town centre. The timetable will be published before the start of traffic, and the payment system in the first phase will serve to record the number of passengers.
Test drives will be carried out in the coming months, in which representatives of local communities included in public transport will also participate.
Concurrently, the necessary infrastructure is being built, primarily charging stations, for which funding has been secured from European sources. In addition, the project is setting up bus stops.
The project involves electric minibuses from the Turkish manufacturer Karsan, with a capacity of 21 passengers, adapted to the narrow city streets. They are being purchased as part of the call by the Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, funded by the Recovery Plan. The value of the contract is 1.4 million euros including VAT, which includes the training of drivers.
